Scarlet-X-Banner

Introduction from creator

Things are changing, as my project that started out as just a movie has developed into a full, fledge multimedia project. Scarlet has been a love of mine since early 2002, when I first started flushing out the character.

Before Selene in Underworld and Bloodrayne, I created a woman who was the perfect killing machine, a hit woman who has lived for centuries and knowledgeable in several disciplines, but with one dark secret...she was a vampire. I wanted a character who was basically an amalgam of several of my favorite characters and bad asses, all rolled into one, but still had a sense of innocence, seduction, and warmth (which are probably far stretches for a vampire).

It’s funny, but several people have asked me about whether or not Scarlet was created based on Bloodrayne or Selene. In actuality, I created Scarlet before those two even came out. As a matter of fact, Scarlet’s first adventure, penned back in January 2002, was very similar to Underworld, still very different. Maybe I will create that graphic novel here one day.

Since then, Scarlet has been joined by a priest, who is the direct descendant of the first parish who saved her, a warrior nun whom she has a jaded past with, a female cop whose lover was killed by one of Scarlet’s sworn enemies, and a young witch who has strong ties to someone from Scarlet’s deep past.

Scarlet, along with her allies and enemies, all make up a very interesting, Gothic universe whose central point of origin is the enigmatic city known as Midnight City, Louisiana, which lies as a vibrational nexus between both Heaven and Hell as well as possessing a centuries old curse of eternal night, even during the day.
